Neck issues- Dizzy - Ear popping - Occipital Neuralgia
Hey Friends!
Iím a 40 year old Mom, wife.

My hubby and I got in a car accident in 2001 when a drunk driver hit us from behind.
Iíve had prolonged whiplash for 17 years.
In January 2017 I started getting bad pressure and pain in the back of my head because of sewing a lot and posture. My ears were being effected and I started getting dizzy.
ENT said MRI looked fine and ears were fine, so it has to be a neck issue...
I started going to the chiro in Oregon 2 x a week. No help.

Went to massage and it helped the dizzy!
Went to another massage person and she caused my neck to loosen so much , it would crackle, crack and make weird noises. The next day a WHOLE LOT of symptoms started 😞
I was still going to chiro through this...

(Bad Massage) March 18th 2018
-Vision sensitivities
-Pain in back of head/neck.
-Traps tight.
-burning in shoulders and down arms.
-shooting pains everywhere.
-nerve vibrations in arms and legs.
-brain nerve overactive. Anxious nerves.
-Couldnít see 20 ft in front of me. Blurry.
-heart pumping heavy. (Heart monitor showed normal skipping beats).
-high pulse (back to normal)
-higher blood pressure for me (back to normal)
-brain fog. Confused.
-pain in nerves in head
-pain behind eye/s
-random cold pain in head.
-random shooting pain in face
-left eye bulging feeling
-left side weakness/less feeling
-Shakey- Tremors
(Dr. Chiro. Massage. Jaw Specialist)

(Tramadol. Xeralto. Lorazepam.)
(Magnesium. Vit B2) Epsom salt baths.

Lorazepam .5 mg helped nerves calm down.
Gabepentin 300 mg made me off balance and couldnít walk.
Muscle relaxers make nerves worse.

Now 4 months later, I have Occipital Neuralgia.
Pain Dr gave me a Occipital Nerve Block. Hasnít helped yet.
-Still dizzy.
-Neck is so tight on left.
-Head/ pain pressure on left.
-Ears popping.
-Sore throat.
-Post nasal drip (3 weeks).
-Vision issues.
-Feel like my whole nervous system is on edge all the time.
-Still have lots of noise in back of head when I turn my head.

Dr is sending me to physical therapy this week.

MRI showed brain normal.
Bulging discs in c4-c5-c6.
Not sure how bulges got there? Maybe my neck has instability since massage??
Iím at my wits end and canít function.

Not sure if you have any advice.

Any advice would be great! Thanks so much!

Re: Neck issues- Dizzy - Ear popping - Occipital Neuralgia

I stumbled across your post while searching symptoms

It was like looking in a mirror. i was astounded :O

Like you, I have had numerous MRI's and CT scans with little or no help.

I have been diagnosed with damaged nerves in the neck and a possible Occidental Neuralgia , and arthritis.

As well as other things such as Celiac Sprue, Lyme, reoccurring RMSF

I have had every single symptom you mentioned over the years with complete hearing loss and chronic tinnitus.

It been a very rough ride. i also have become incapacitated by it, so help is slow without insurance and money.

I hope you are feeling better.

The only thing that helps me Is watching my posture standing up straight, laying out on a big exercise ball stretching my spine gently. And avoiding any quick neck movements. Still , its constant pain.

Did you find any help?

Thank you. I have vertigo and my Dr. is recommending an MRI and I do not want the contrast but they say I should have it. Did you have your MRI's with or without contrast.

I have been dealing with vertigo for over 12 years. I recently did some research and found cbd oil stops the vertigo. I went a step further and have been dropping 1 to 2 drops in my ear, while laying down, and with 5 to 30 minutes. vertigo gone.
