| Babesia and Vertigo?
Anyone here treated for babesia and found relief from their vertigo? I'm curious because I have Lyme, and although I have seen some of my symptoms go into remission, I can't shake the "rocking". Thank you in advance.

Hi Rodney. Babesiosis can cause dizziness. I think dizziness is one of the worst symptoms.
Do you have Babesiosis? Have you been treated?

Ticker ..I tested negative on the Igenex pcr. I do know that they only test for 2 strains. I am on IV rocephin at the moment and have herxed so bad the doc told me to take a two day vacation off the med. But the babesia has caught my attention. I have a non-spinning vertigo that could also just be the Lyme. 3 months on doxy didn't touch the dizzies. Babs???? Hmmm?

ktp812..I will let you know. I suspect it may be babs, but I will tell you this, when I started the rocephin my vertigo went crazy. Herx? I think so. So maybe it is just the lyme but as you are well aware this is a crazy disease. Are you taking anything with the malarone? Good luck and maybe we can all get off this rocking ship!

Did any of you test positive for Babs or was it a clinical diagnosis. The reason I ask is that I had one test for babs and it was negative. I don't want to throw meds at something that I don't have.

Hi Rodney. Which Babesiosis test did you have?
Sometimes people can have it and test negative. How long ago were you tested? In some cases people test negative intially and positive later (maybe when the load is more detectable).
Lyme and Babesiosis can both cause dizziness.

I tested positive for Babs thru Igenex, showing a "past" infection.

FlaGal1, what do you mean by past infection? It is my understanding the the IgM shows a more recent infection and the IgG a longer standing one.

Hi Rodney. I think some people can test positive on the PCR and some on the antibody test. I tested negative on the PCR and very positive on the antibody test.

Not sure what it means Ticker, on my results it states may suggest evidence of a past infection. Then it showed 1:40 Titer under IgG.

well flaGal1....what is so interesting to me is that you got rid of the horrible rocking vertigo with the babs drugs..I am sooooo going to ask about it. If I could get rid of the vertigo I would be one happy camper.
