Re: need advise about flying with ear problems and vertigo

i just came through ur post in health board and im a totally new member. I want to tell you my experience about vertigo and other ear issues. just like you, my far fetched memory includes of me going to see the doc back n forth because of ear problems and an end came to the agony only few years ago. i had the same issues when i fly, constant deafness n numbness in my ear with sharp pains.

actually this is because our inner ear is not functioning properly. there is a solution for that, you need to have Eustachian tube surgery (ear tube surgery).because that is what i also had. i would advice u to go and see an ENT specialist and do the tube surgery asap because its no good to stay like that with no treatment. when i speak of this right now im having the problem because, by the time i got the appropriate treatment, my right ear's eardrum is beyond repair. nevertheless my doctor performed tube surgery in both my ears. my left ear is working perfectly n now i dont have any pains. but my right ear, i had to go under the tube surgery for three times, because the tube gets extruded each time due to the damage. therefore i wud advice u to go n see an ent specialist n go through the treatment. n if a doc says u will loose thehearing because of the tube surgery than he is not a good doctor. because thats what my doctors also said. however if the right doctor comes he will say that "u will not loose hearing". im a living proof of that.

i cud recommend u my doctor.
Dato Dr.Sangara Kandia, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, +60340421888.

if he asks you who recommended u, u can tell my name "Aisha - from Maldives". he will know me.

i hope this helps u a lot.
take care
