Got my diagnosis - now what?

Well after 7 months of not knowing what was wrong my ENT now gave me the diagnosis VN. I also have tinnitus in my right ear.

I asked her if it could be labs because of the tinnitus, but she said it's VN.

She's specialized in Meniere and said it's definitely not that.

I asked her how sure she was of this diagnosis. She said they are never 100% sure, but that it should go away within a year (total) and if it's not gone in january I should come back.

But she was pretty confident this was the right diagnosis. I had VNG testing, blood work and a neuro exam. Didn't have an MRI or CT. I have no hearing loss. My hearing is perfect she said.

So I'm trying to deal with this. The dizzyness is actually subsiding so that's great. The tinnitus is only in my right ear but pretty high pitched and hard. Sometimes it's almost gone, but sometimes, especcially when I wake up in the middle of the night it is really loud.

Do many people with VN have tinnitus? I've read somewhere that tinnitus is the last part of the VN before it goes away. It that something you've heard before or is it just a theory?

Glad I finally have my diagnosis, just not too sure what to do now.
