Undiagnosed, self-reinforcing dizziness/vertigo

Hi everyone,

Wondering if anyone can give me help/advice related to some vertigo I've been having.

I have some kind of stomach problem (probably an ulcer), and I was experimenting with various drugs for it. (Probably stupid to experiment with as many things as I did...) Anyway, many of them seem to give me vertigo which lasts for a while (on the order of days) after discontinuing the drug. Most recently I decided to stop fooling around and go back to my doctor's original prescription of omeprazole, but that seems to do it too, now.

This recent spell of vertigo, from the omeprazole, has lasted several weeks. It tends to get better over time, but if I do anything that triggers it then it gets worse again. For a while I was just spending all day sitting in the yard because I didn't want to accidentally trigger it. (I've had the progress of several days ruined over the course of less than a minute because I stupidly decided to push through an activity, so I try to avoid activities unless they've already proven safe).

Things that seem to trigger it in a BIG way include watching a movie wearing earphones and sitting in a rocking chair. But when it's at it's worst, even really simple stuff like walking around can trigger it.

I visited the doctor and he checked me for BPPV and it wasn't present. He also suggested meclizine; I tried that and it did almost nothing.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts!
