It wouldn't affect the hair growth/shedding cycle. Are you having patches falling out or noticable thinness?

What other meds are you on, and have you had blood tests done for deficiencies and hormones?

    Re: Benedryl

It's breaking off, I've had all the blood tests but nothing. I noticed the hair loss after taking the Benedryl for 3 months nightly. Nothing else has changed in my meds or diet. My skin is extremely dry I would think Throid but I just had a Throid work up, so ???

Unfortunately my perspective is not good, I've lost at least a 1/3 rd of my hair with no end in sight.

Were you checked for iron, vitamin D, all b vitamins, zinc, etc?

What were the results of the thyroid test?
Did you have other hormone tests done...and how are your periods?

    How exactly is your diet?

Were you sick over the past 6 months?

    Lots of questions. Sorry.

You could consider something else to use for sleeping...I use Trazadone and switch with L-Theanine.

    Re: Benedryl

Had all the blood tests for vitamin and minerals, throid is fine. I used Elavil for years for sleep it worked wonderfully but my doctor took me off because of the Beers list. I'm not using anything now for sleep because I stopped the Benedryl. The only change is the Benedryl use of 3 months and the 2 vaccines for Covid I got. That's it nothing else. I would hate to pin it on the covid vaccination because that's an easy go to. I have read a lot about Benedryl causing hair loss but I was asking to see if anyone out there has had a personal experience with it ???

Its good you've had all testing done.

I do know of some who are on Benadryl constantly and no hair loss...but in saying that, it doesn't mean it hasn't happened to you. It is also possible the vaccines in combo with it had a hand in it.

The inly way to be sure is to stop it and ask your doctor for other options.

I do switch between Trazadone prescription and the supplement L-Theanine.
