Burst Fracture L1

I recently had spinal fusion L4 L5. I had this on 12/27/12. Last tuesday I slipped on the ice and landed on my butt. It was the most intense pain I ever had in my life. My hubby called the squad and went to the ER. It was determined that I had a burst fracture of L1. I was imobilized in a hard shell brace from my armpits to my hips. I was in the hospital for three days. I was put on clear liquids due to the fact that I was on Morphine and percoset. I have not had a bowel movement since Tuesday. I don't know if that is a major concern. My pain is horrible. Has anyone had this problem? I would appreciate it if you could respond. Thanks.

Re: Burst Fracture L1

That's a common side effect of pain meds. A stool softener might be in order.
