Unhappy Throat, glands and nose problems

I have suffered with an ongoing problem for around 4 years or more, at my previous doctor's I was told that I would be referred to a throat specialist if my last prescription didn't solve the issue. I have extremely swollen glands in my neck that are very inflamed and sore, I have had tonsillitis on various occasions, I have difficulty sleeping due to the sensation of feeling like I constantly have something stuck in my throat, which can sometimes cause issues with my breathing, I am constantly also lethargic and have a feeling on being unwell on a daily basis, this I believe has had a big impact on my weight, as I have gained a lot since I first started with these symptoms. I am unsure if I have thyroid problems as well as a nasal drip as even when I do not have a cold/ the flu I have to blow my nose 20/30 times per day.I also have the sensation that I constantly need to cough something up or that I have a lump in my throat/ I need to be sick, sometimes I suffer inflamation in my uvula which causes it to touch the back of my tongue causing a gagging reflex when I talk. Because of these issues I find it very difficult to be motivated to exercise, carry out basic day to day tasks, my university work has been affected and I am worried that this could affect me in a working environment. On separate occasions I have coughed up blood and green nasal discharge. At my previous doctor's in the past I was prescribed a course of anti-biotics which were not effective, a nasal spray which didn't do anything for my throat or other symptoms, I was told to try antihistamine tablets and painkillers to try and reduce swelling but have seen no changes. Unfortunately circumstances in my personal life meant that I could no longer afford treatment up until this point, I also changed addresses so never got around to arranging to see a specialist about these problems so I have tried to live with this condition as best as I can trying to cope but I can no longer do so as I feel so drained. I think these issues may stem deeper and need further exploration as these symptoms have no improved at all since the first time I raised the issues with my previous GP. I did previously have a blood test but these came back clear so I am really at a loss of what to do. My memory has also declined in these past years which I am not sure if it relates to anything above that I have described or not, all of the glands in my neck are hard, tender and feel like golf balls, I feel like I constantly need to clear my throat but no matter how many times I do so the feeling of something being stuck remains, it sometimes makes me panic as I feel like my breathing is compromised, my nose is pretty much always blocked too, this is really stressing me out as I have no idea what this could be. I just managed to get registered at a new doctors and will book an appointment asap but what worries me is that this problem has gone on for such a long period of time

Re: Throat, glands and nose problems

Why haven't you simply had your tonsils out? THat would seem to be the best course of action!
