clearing throat and hoarseness

Hey there, I don't have an answer for your question, but I am curious about your ENT visit. I'm sorta in the same boat as you. I am terrified about throat cancer and I've been dealing with a hoarse voice for over 2 weeks now. I'm curious how the ENT examines the vocal cord. You just kept your mouth open while she shined a light down? I keep reading about them running a camera up through your nose and down the throat which sounds awful to me. I see the ENT on Friday and hope they can get a good look at my vocal cords.

well I was worried also about that - I had of course googled it so I knew that's what she would want to do....she sprayed some numbing stuff into each nostril and then about 3 or 4 minutes later - brought a machine in and ran a tube down my left nostril into my throat at my vocal cords - told me to say A and E....It didn't last long at all and really wasn't that bad....I stayed numb for a couple of hours I guess. Wish you well....
