    Venous hum treatments?

My wife has been hearing a humming sound in one ear for quite some time. It goes away breliefly if she puts pressure on her neck or tilts her head to the side. It gets worse when she's stressed (blood pressure goes up). She had a bunch of MRIs which came back normal so it's nothing life threatening. Went back to the ENT last week and he told her that it is probably a venous hum and there's really not much to do except live with it. The only solution he gave was to lose weight (she has gained weight in the past year). The noise is driving her crazy especially if the room is quiet and it's all she can hear. Are there any other treatments or solutions available to make it tolerable? Thank you!
