    Ear pain causes sneezing

I have mentioned my mother in another post. She was diagnosed with TMJ but has severe ear pain.

Another interesting thing that is happening is when she presses on the ear that hurts, and rubs hard, she ends up sneezing many times and gets stuffed up. Also when she sniffs back hard, pain shoots in her ear and up her head and whole side of her face.

Audiologist said it was sinuses. Dentist said TMJ. Primary care doc said TMJ AND middle ear infection. Gave antibiotics and they did nothing. Went back to dentist and he now agrees with primary doc that it's TMJ and sinuses.

Does anyone have any idea what would cause this? It this a sinus infection? If so, then why did antibiotics not help, and her ears look clear?

    Thanks.
