Tonsillectomy and large pills

I'm going to have a tonsillectomy on October 18 and I was wondering how I am going to be able to swallow my daily medications when the majority are very large pills and I take 19 pills a day. There are a couple that I definitely can not stop taking for any reason. Anyone can give me any tips on how I can get through this. Thanks!

Re: Tonsillectomy and large pills

I'd talk with your ENT or surgeon about the specifics. But if any can be cut, I'd do that. You'll have to drink lots of fluids so you should be able to get most down. Also, if some can be dissolved, that might help. I had an adult tonsillectomy and didn't have any problems swallowing -just had to take it slowly and drink plenty of fluids.

Thanks. I'm going to have to because the problem is I can't cut or dissolve those pills. They have to be taken whole. I just hope there's similar medicine out there that she can put me on in the meantime. Thanks very much appreciated
