    Unhappy Re-occurring Throat Infections!?

Just this past August my town where I live was subject to lots of consistent forest fires. Come the end of the month I started having troubles breathing and it felt like my nose was closing. Around this time I also noticed my lymph nodes on my neck were swollen, but one was more than the other. I went to many doctors, I had an ECG done, chest x-rays, back X-rays, several blood tests. All came back healthy aside from developing hypothyroidism and my white blood cell count was slightly high meaning there is an infection. Basically all the doctors told me not to worry.

By September/October I developed tonsillitis, and while on my first set of antibiotics the breathing problems went away. But now I've dealt with tonsillitis that just keeps coming back. I've been on 3 rotations of antibiotics so far and the infection goes away, but not completely, then comes right back. My doctors don't seem worried at all, but I still am. I'm scared because the infection just won't go away and my lymph nodes and neck are still a bit swollen(but the lymph node swelling has gone down ). It's now just the beginning of February and the anxiety is killing me. As far as I knew, I was a healthy 19 year old that has never smoked, avoids drinking, and eats well.

My anxiety especially circulates around my lymph nodes, because I'm scared of lymph node cancer. I asked my doctor and they said no and not to worry about it because they are mobile and not super hard and they ache with my infection. I was also sent for a ultrasound of my neck and thyroid and just concluded hypothyroidism and my lymph nodes were swollen from the infection.

Has anyone ever dealt with something like this? I am so nervous and I would appreciate any tips or advice...

why not just have your tonsils out and this will go away with them???? And lymph node infections are rather common. I wouldn't get worried about that.

    thank you for replying!

And basically, my doctors office only refers u to a specialist/for a tonsillectomy if u test positive for strep throat at least 4 times. I don't believe i've tested positive yet

You need another doctor or a talk with the one you have. Sorry you need a referral.
