Re: Phantosmia?

Had to stop taking indomethacin 75mg ER 3 times a day because it made me very nauseous. It was so bad I had to take Zofran every four hours....plus the meds didn't relieve my headache. Calling the Neurologist today. Hopefully he will have some answers.

Re: Phantosmia?

Seems a typical symptom from that high dosage.....hope there are other options for you. Have you had hormonal testing done?

Re: Phantosmia?

My neurologist is putting me on Depakote 500mg 1 per day for a week to see if it works. No I haven't had hormonal tests done...why?

Re: Phantosmia?

Because hormonal upticks or spirals can cause migraine type head pain.

Did the MRI include a look at your neck?

Hope the new med helps.

Re: Phantosmia?

No...I do have issues with my neck. Genetics...I get shots in my neck at least once a year. My neurologist doesn't think the headaches are from my neck.

Re: Phantosmia?

Have you seen a vascular specialist? Maybe another perspective?

How is the new med working?
