    My ears look "funny"

    Hi

I have suffered hearing issues since a child. I was constantly getting ear infections, which resulted in grommets. I was still low in hearing, so I have hearing aids.

At the age of 30, i am still constantly suffering ear infections, as well as sinus infections. I am awaiting referrals for an ENT specialist, as my GP is just handing out antibiotics every time I go in.
Recently I was experiencing pain, so I was put on two courses of antibiotics. The ears feel better, but dr still says they look "a little red".

At my hearing appointment today (for review of my hearing aids) she also made comment that my eardrums do look "a little weird" and asked me to go back to another GP for a referral to see one.

My question is....what could slightly red/funny eardrums indicate? I know it can indicate infection, but honestly every time someone looks in my ears, they say the same thing. Surely it's not just a coincidental new infection every time?

    Thanks in advance.

    Sounds like scarring from infections.
