    esophogal ring and throat polyps

I am going to have a 3rd "throat stretch" in a few weeks because of a " chronic esophogal ring." I have difficulty swallowing, and have required the stretch process twice in 14 months. During the last endoscopy, the dr. removed throat polyps. Have any of you heard of the ring stretch? I have esophogitis, and take prevacid. I have friends who have dealt with difficulty swallowing, but no one else has ever heard of the stretch.

    Just curious--
    Trish

Got to watch my husbands.. really neat procedure. The doctor used what he named "Big Bertha"... this long tube with a padded lock bolt on the end and then proceeds to add increasing large washers on it.... yep, the mental image is correct! They then jam it down your throat to stretch out the ring. It works wonders though. My husband is doing great and it has been two years.

    Sincerely,
    MG

    mskubic,
