| Nasal polyps
I bought an allergy reliever and it says in the manual not to use if you have nasal polyps. My nose is constantly blocked, especially the left side, so I looked up there with a torch and there are fleshy bits down each side of my nostrils. Are these supposed to be there? How do you know if you have polyps?

You probably should see a ENT specialist to have it confirmed but it could be polyps. My son had them removed when he was 13 but they've grown back. He uses a nasal spray every day, it was prescribed by the ENT. Polyps are caused by allergies and often grow back. His nose is constantly blocked and the only relief he gets is from using the nasal spray. It's called Beconase ( in Australia ) and can now be purchased without a prescription.

Thank you. I will have to go to the doctors before I start using it then. Should they be able to tell me if I have polyps just by looking up my nose, or will I need an x-ray?
We get Beconase here. I've had it beofre, but I always thought that was to stop your nose from running, not unblock it?

They are used to shrink polyps over time. Not a quick fix.
I have been using it for 2 years and the polyps are winning.

I'm unaware of Beconase being used to shrink polyps. My boy was prescribed it for allergies which is what causes the polyps in the first place. He doesn't stop sniffing if he runs out of it. You won't need an XRay, the Doctor can see them just looking up your nose with a torch. My son really needs to have his removed again but he says he's not going through that again. Don't let that turn you off though, after all he is a male lol.

lol, thanks.
I had nasal surgery when I was a child. I'm not sure if they did a septoplasty or a turbinectomy, but it wasn't too bad.

Hi There,
Just to update you, I have used SinusWars products for just over a week. The congestion and headaches dissappeard in just a few days but it took about 8-9 days for the post nasal drip to stop. I checked their website for nasal polyps and their product is a 12 week supply, so I suppose that might even take longer. I hope some day they come up with a product that works even quicker. Never the less I am satisfied with the results and glad that I got my money's worth. All the best!!!!
