Snoring, remove tonsils... ?
Was looking into possibly trying to find a solution for my snoring, which of course to me is not a problem but the wife is easily bothered by it, very light sleeper, it's pretty much making us sleep different rooms, so I thought ok let's look into it.
Went to a ENT specialist, basically looked me over, nothing really wrong other than I have small opening in throat, not much to be done about it, so he said lets try a Sleep Clinic study and do that.
Well did that, results came back that I have minor sleep apnia, nothing serious at all, and after going back to the ENT specialist basically the only suggestion he had was get my tonsils removed and pallate clipped a little, said this 'should' help and prevent alot of the snoring.
I'm 36 yrs old, getting my tonsils removed is not sounding like fun, and this is no guarantee will work, but as he said it should and probably will. If it does, then great! I wouldn't mind doing it, and yes I know about the post-op and the pain that comes after.
Has anyone had their tonsils removed at this age? And for snoring?
What you think? Suggestions?
