    one nostril constantly blocked

I've suffered for years from one clogged nostril, which often keeps me from sleeping. 13 yrs ago, I had a turbinectomy and was told my deviated septum was repaired, and that those procedures should rectify my problems. Still suffered from nose clogging but to a lesser degree. Now it's bad again. Went to another dr. who told me my deviation was never repaired. I can't afford another surgery. What do I do?

A turbinectomy is a reduction in the mucosa that lines up the nostril. p

A turbinectomy has nothing to do with a deviated septum.

What you can do is to actually have a turbinate reduction surgery. Consider it an investment in your health - the productivity increase from waking up rested and being able to breathe free will be worth way more than $200 or however much the turbinectomy will cost.

A turbinectomy is far from a cure all and can lead to significant complications, including Empty Nose Syndrome and a variety of other issues caused by disrupting the laminar flow of air through the nose.

Turbinectomy, when done correctly can be a helpful procedure, but it's critical that it be done correctly and using minimally invasive techniques (which cost way more than $200).

Generally, turbinate reduction should be done as a last resort when all of the medical options for decreasing turbinate and sinus inflammation (decongestants, steroid sprays, saline irrigation, etc.) have been exhausted.
