Painful Bump On Roof Of Mouth!

Longtime lurker, first time poster.

Long and short of it:

1) One very small bump on the side-roof of my mouth. < edited >
2) First came about a few months ago... recurs in the same spot.
3) Will swell and be very hard/painful/sore for literally a few HOURS only, and then go away instantaneously. This will happen every few weeks. In between it's not very painful, but now is starting to get irritated after drinking tea and eating.

About me:

1) 23 year old male, very good health and non-smoker/drinker. Good dental health and track record.
2) No sexual misconduct (unfortunately) in the few months before it started.
3) Small side note: I do enjoy eating Chipotle quite regularly... I don't get the spicy salsa but there are onions/spices nonetheless... maybe that's exacerbating it?

So you guys know the internet... one site says it's harmless, another one says it's cancer. Hopefully the pic gives someone a good idea of what it IS and what it IS NOT. Either one will help. Seeing the dentist next week for a cleaning but I just expect a brush off.
