Inner Ear Infection 6 months of persistent vertigo
Hello I'm an 18 year old man, who has been suffering from what seems to be vertigo for almost 6 months. I can describe it as a feeling of floating, rocking and being pulled to the right. The feeling of rocking is the same feeling when one is inside of a car.
In early July my doctor referred me to an ENT specialist claiming the problem was due to an Ear infection. The specialist confirms that it is a minor ear infection and prescribed me with Betahistine dihydrochloride which to my surprise had no effect on me. I revisited my doctor who performed a blood test and concluded that my blood test was fine, and that the problem is related to the inner ear. He claimed that the issue should resolve on its own within 6 months.
During late August I visited a Homopathic center which provided me with some medication. Three months later on this new medication and to my surprise the intensity of my vertigo had significantly reduced. However the issue isn't completely gone, and is still bothersome to this day. It's been 4 weeks since I stopped the medication, and I feel as if the intensity is increasing. Prior to the new medication, the sensation was constant from the moment I woke up to the moment I went to sleep. Now it seems that If I divert my attention somewhere else, I hardly notice it or the intensity reduces, however sometimes it becomes overwhelming, to the point where I can't continue my current task.
I'm starting to consider that this isn't an ear related problem, but an issue with my brain, could it be cancer? Or perhaps pressure on the nerves near the brain steam?
