Salivary Gland Swelling and Pain

For a long time I've had pain and swelling in my left submandibular salivary gland. It's sometimes swollen and painful when I wake up. Massage and drinking a lot make it go down. In the past I had an x-ray of my gland which showed no stones. My ENT said that I could just have a salivary gland that can chronically swell. I have a history of high calcium due to hyperparathyroidism which is why I would be prone to salivary stones. It's swollen again tonight. It's always swollen and painful underneath my chin and along my jawline. Hot compresses work sometimes but it can take a while to go down. Has anyone else dealt with this? Did you find anything that works?
