White Tongue After Sugar (Negative Fungal Culture)

When I consume sugar (or alcohol) I get a white coating on my tongue. I had it cultured and it came back negative for fungus.

It seems to be accompanied by dry mouth and throat and goes away completely after a few days of avoiding sugar.

What could this be?
