Anorexia recovery - relapse prevention

Hi guys,

I have been in recovery from anorexia for almost a year now (there was one brief relapse). I have gone from lowest weight of 38 kilos to now being 51 kilos. I am 163 cm tall and do about one hours walk each day. In the last month i went from maintaining a weight of 49 kilos on 1800 cal and hours walk to gaining consistent weight on that same amount. I upped my exercise but that didn't make a difference and in the last week i dropped my food intake to 1600 calories. I weighed myself this morning and my weight had gone up from the previous week. I am terrified of falling into the eating disorder mindset again but its so hard to know what to do. My dietician is non committal but in the past has said that 1800-2000 calories were what most people eat and that i wouldn't gain on those amounts. I am not even trying to lose weight anymore, just to halt the continued weight gain. Is my metabolism completely messed up? or is it just that my body may not need the same amounts as others please help... i am finding the whole situation very triggering.

Thumbs up Re: Anorexia recovery - relapse prevention

Hi there! wow congrats on the one year of recov!! I'm still struggling - you sound like you're doing great!
I'm in the USA so I'll have to convert your kg and cm to pounds and inches lol so that I can speak to your daily caloric requirements.
I just didnt want you to think that no one cares - so i am replying in advance of the unit conversions!!
But no matter what, dont panic!!
xoxo
