    Signs from Above......to recover!

Hey everyone. Maybe this sounds strange, but yesterday I got two signs from God, or from the universe, or whatever you want to call it, that have really scared/encouraged me to stop the binging and purging. I really think these were sent to help me.....
First I walked into the room right when there was a story on the local news about girl who died from bulimia, her heart stopped, just before her 21st birthday, and her mom was on the news trying to spread the news about ED's and help people. I just kept thinking, that could be my mother, I could be that poor girl....
Then immediately following on another channel there was this show with a man doing an intervention for women who had ana and bulimia, and she was talking about how she though she was going to die...
A week before this on "intervention" there was a bulimic women also.
It is odd for so many shows on ED's to be on in a short period...I really think there are warning signs for me to stop. I didn't throw up yesterday or today and I think I am on the road to recovery. I don't think I will ever be completely cured, because especially around the holidays I can't helping but binging and puring because of all the food around.

But I think I am getting better!!! But I am still worried about the damage i have done to my body already.
I am going to the Dr. this week....Should I request an EKG to check out my heart? will that show if I have done any damage???

It is really hard for me to tell my Dr. of my bulimia because he is like a friend...I had a lot of problems with my asthma as a teen and I saw him like twice a month...he is such a cool guy and doctor....it is just hard for me. I mean, I am sure he knows because it is in my records from when I went to an eating disorder specialist, and other specialists, and I told them. So he knows, but it is hard saying it outloud.

I think that is the hard thing, saying it outloud. AND I know he will want them to see a therapist when i have already seem atleast 8 and none of them helped...actually made me worse. All doc's think therapy is a cure all.

    Re: Signs from Above......to recover!

I hate to go to therapists, I went in high school after my boyfriend and I broke up, we were together for over 3 years, and I just felt like I lost half of my body, and when that happened all of my so called friends turned on me, because he was the most popular guy n school, the star of the bball team and all the girls wanted him, so they had no reason to be nice to me anymore and it just tore my world down. And i can say going to the therapist made me worse as well. I dont think its the right thing for everyone. It is wonderful for a lot of people, but I know it doesnt work for me, and u know it doesnt work for you, so try to find alternatives to it. But you should tell your doc everything even though it is hard. I havent done it yet because its extremely hard and I get tounge tied everytime I try to do it and I just decide its better to keep my mouth shut, but I know its not. I think that they will be able to help you and tehy will be able to help me, but you have to be open to it and willing to accept and try everything they want you to try, so if you are not ready to do that then dont tell them. You've got to have ur mind and heart set on being ready....good luck hun. You keep your head up. Everythiing happens for a reason, and yes those things on tv probably were for you, God works in mysterious ways, I'll be praying for yuo. and as i said I am very proud of u for going so long wtihout binging and purging its a great accomplishment
