Post endometriosis of the lung

After many years and many specialists, I have been diagnosed having endometriosis of the lung. It first started about four years ago when I coughed up a tiny blood stained mucus. It grew and got more and more serious. After many exams, diagnosis was normal. Finally I was able to put this incident with the time frame my menstrual cycle which helped my doctors to positive identified the disease.

Last year, I went through 6 months of Lupron treatment to suppress my period. I didnít cough up blood; however, I had a rare side effect of having elevated blood pressure. I had to take Diltiazem to stabilize my blood pressure and going through great discomfort to adjust my body to the medication. Early this year, two months after the Lupron treatment, I started coughing up blood again. My doctor suggested to going through IVF to suppress endometriosis longer. However my FSH level was high (in the 30s) and he didnít recommend this option.

Iím posting this message to welcome all your feedbacks regarding the experience or treatment that you know of. Thanks in advance for your help!

Any reason why they don't want to zap it with laser? I had/have atypical endometriosis that was removed in April (and several times over the past 15 years) - from kidneys, liver, bladder and some other organs. I am on BCP but that's more to prevent further ovarian cysts.

IVF seems rather radical especially if you weren't looking to get preggers...

Thanks for your reply!

I appreciate if you could give me more details on your laser treatment. What was the type of specialists who can perform this treatment? Do you know of any information on the Web describing different treatment options for this form of endometriosis? How were your problems (in kidney, liver) diagnosed in the beginning?

A surgeon told me that he could not guarantee to find all tissues and removing a portion of my lung also does not mean endometriosis is completely eradicated.

Since my husband and I want to have a baby, getting pregnant certainly is what we are hoping for.

Again, thanks for sharing your experience with me.
