    Endometriosis/White Blood Cells

So, my husband and I have been trying to conceive for years without any luck. We have been seeing an infertility specialist about it, for just over a year now. So far, all my tests (blood tests, husband's sperm test, ultra sounds, HSG, etc.) have all come back normal, so they are not sure why I am having so much trouble getting pregnant.

Next month, I am scheduled for a laparoscopy, to check if maybe I have endometriosis. It's pretty much my last hope of figuring out what is wrong. I never thought I'd be saying this, but I am hoping that I have it (in a mild form), so that it can be corrected for now, and we can conceive. I never would have guessed I would have this, as my menstrual cycles have always been regular, and my cramps are always bad on the first two days of my period, I have to load up on Ibuprofen, but I always assumed that that was "normal." I know the symptoms can vary, so I hope this surgery procedure will get me some answers, finally!

My question is, one thing I have recently thought of is, this last year, it was discovered that I have a high amount of white blood cells in my urine. My doctor tested me for an infection, and although it was negative, I was put on two different antibiotics, just in case. They didn't work. So, I was sent to a urologist, and they couldn't figure it out either. If I have endometriosis, I was just wondering if maybe that could be the cause of it? I asked my fertility doctor, and she said it's possible, especially if endometriosis is on the bladder, but I was hoping to hear from some other women who have had similar experiences!

I'm so sorry you're going through this. I went through what your going through (unexplained infertility) and ended up having an exploratory lap. They did find stage 2, almost 3 endo that was excised and I also had a septum on my uterus that was removed. We ended up doing IVF and I have 2 kids from a successful cycle. I never had WBC in my urine, but that doesn't mean it can't happen.

Hang in there and don't let this journey knock you down...don't leave any stone unturned. Did you do a specialized auto-immune blood panel? It measures NKC (natural killer cells) and other things that would prevent a successful pregnancy. I went to Sher Institute in Vegas...research their website!

Let me know if you have any questions.

Hi! I don't know if this thread is still active but I am experiencing the same thing! Symptoms of infection, white blood cells but no bacteria. I was diagnosed with endo over 10 yrs ago. I'd love to know how things progressed for you?

    Hi Mossy,

These threads pretty much stay open forever Interesting coming back to this post! In the last 5 months I have been having symptoms of UTI and WBC in urine and NO bacteria. I was treated with 2 antibiotics, including Cipro and nothing changed. I wonder if it has to do with Endo??? I never thought of that! For the last 3 months I have been suffering from Endo pain and heavy periods. It is a very distinctive pain. It is really bad on my intestines...the pain is severe when I have to #2
