multinodular goiter

My mother got a small pill stuck in her throat last night. It won't go down & won't come up. She can breathe ok but is annoying and kept her awake.

Nothing is taking it down. Not food, not hot liquids, water -- nothing.

Could her multinodular goiter be the cause of this pill getting stuck?

Could she be at risk for food getting stuck?

Thanks for any help you can offer.
