Does this sound like a seizure?

Does this sound like it could be a mild seizure?

A sudden stiffening of the face (both sides) that lasts for just a minute or so and is accompanied by sensation as if the person's face is being squeezed in a vice. No loss of consciousness or ability to communicate.

Re: Does this sound like a seizure?

Could be brain related or nerve related, or even anxiety related. Have you or this person seen a doctor and had a brain or upper neck scan?....on any meds or have any other health issues?

Re: Does this sound like a seizure?

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I suppose it could be any number of things. Neurological tests/scans have never shown up anything amiss. No meds, healthy other than a vestibular disorder. The anxiety angle has been suggested, and certainly could be a possibility.

Re: Does this sound like a seizure?

what vestibular disorder exactly? I have BPPV and can sometimes have unexpected sensations from visual stimulation, but I react in a tense way, as in high anxiety for a moment.

Did this only happen to you once?

Re: Does this sound like a seizure?

Thank you for your replies. Saw another doctor and after much testing was assured that this is not a seizure and that I'm perfectly healthy. Probably just a response to anxiety. It's only happened a few times in decades, but always curious what causes it. Huh! Didn't even realize I was stressed lol.
