Post Lamotrigine

This is what I am using to control my epilepsy. I am wondering if anyone else uses it, or used it before ? For me it works really well though.

Hello again. I have taken Lamictal. I found that it had less side effects that the meds I took before I started Lamictal. I did take it with Tegretol however. It is one of the newer meds developed specifically for Complex Partial. It seems to work well for many people and does not harm the quality of life that the older meds can do with their effects on memory, mood, mental acuity etc. Since I have had surgery I took lamictal for about 2 years before coming off of it and staying with Keppra only. Another thing, I never had to have a Lamictal level drawn because the company that made Lamictal did not have an established blood level so it did not need measuring. If your doc is checking Lamictal levels, ask him why since there is no established level. Some will do that just to increase profits. I hate to have to tell you this, but it is very true, and we all need to know the real score. My doc based any increases on how I was doing regarding my seizures and quality of life. The potential for developing that rash was the main concern re Lamictal, so it is started very very slowly to prevent that. No p[roblems with Lamictal. I am glad it may be working for you. Does it stop your seizures completely? That's the goal. One is too many. Tattoo

yes it works well. Sure I had one last month, but the job I had at the time was in a hot work environment plus summer. I work in a better environment.

but my last problem with seizures before this year was in 1998, which isn't too bad. My epilepsy is under control. I think I had one when I was sleeping over a year ago though. SO I guess that counts.
