caffeine and seizures, A link?

Question caffeine and seizures, A link?

Is there a link between caffeine, sugar and seizures.ater stoping caffeine I got auditory sez. daily for year and half it got better when I went back to drinking coffee. 1 a month now.

My Neuro tells me to stay away from all things containing caffeine because it will lower the seizure threshold. From what I know, that is pretty much common advice for the folks I work with who have Epilepsy as well. I also stay away from Nutrasweet for the same reason. Sugar is okay

mommeee, Hello..
When I was a kid they kept me away from cokes. I know it sounds strange but the lack of caffeine was the only thing I could put my finger on to cause this sudden change (auditory sez). iT TOOK A YEAR AFTER I STARTED DRINKING COFFEE FOR THE SEZ TO TAPER OFF TOO 1 a month. Thanks for the reply, there is more info in post #2 47 years.
