Need help slimming down INNER thighs

Anyone have any exersice tips (that can be done at home) to slim down inner thighs thighs? I am a 19 y/o female, 5'3 and 114 lbs and currently jogging about 2 miles a day. Yet I would like to slim down my thighs to look more "proportioned ". My thighs only seem to have fat in the inner of my thighs...the outer part is fairly tight. Any advice would be greatly appreciated :) Thanx so much!

It has been said countless times on this board but the bad news is that there is no way to pick which part of your body gets slimmer, there is no such thing as spot reducing. When you lose weight (fat) it will come of from evrywhere on your body but usually the last place that will lose fat is the first place that gains fat (i.e., your "trouble spot). In other words, first in, last out.
However, if all the rest of you is not fat (and it looks like you are fairly lean) then perhaps what you think is inner thigh fat is simply muscle that needs to be toned. Try using the adductor (inner thigh muscle) machine at your gym or find other exercise that works your inner thigh and it may be all that you need to do to firm up that area.
On the other hand, if the flabbiness is indeed due to fat deposits then it may be impossible to get rid of it without getting your overall body fat percentage down to a dangerously low and unhealthy level.

hey frogprince!
Nice to see you here too! :) And yes, I am interested in staying fit. I look at it like this: if I am unable to control my acne, I might as well control other things...like my diet and exercise routine to stay fit ;) I started to diet and use medications for my face prescribed my a dermotologist around the same time. So far I've dropped 3 sizes and about 16 lbs. I just wish my face would heal just as fast! ;) But I feel blessed to even have the slightest improvements ya know?
And I am also 19 ;) I know what you mean...everyone on here is soooo nice!!!!!! Would be nice to meet up with some of the relationships that have formed b/c everyone is such a great support system!
I wish you the best of luck also on ALL YOUR GOALS! :)

If you are trying to slim down your thighs, I would continue to jog at least 30 minutes a day. A long w/ running, do squats or lungs (a few reps of 8-10 to start). If you decided to do squats, point your toes ******d, as if your legs are in a " V " shape, this will help train the inner area better. Remember, diet is everything, you don't want to be eating high fat foods or high carbs, b/c this may be the area where you're storing these types of foods. So, shoot for more protein, veggies, and fruits. Yes, some fat and carbs, but just be careful!

Good Luck! :bouncing:

While you won't be able to lose it just in your inner thighs, you would benefit from Pilaties or any other specialized body-sculpting workout.

This sounds crazy, but have you looked at the Thigh Masters? I got one at a rummage sale for a buck, and it really works good for toning the inner thigh. Of course, to burn the fat you'll need overall aerobic exercise.

Well done on the running. I started up a year ago after watching a friend do a marathon. At first I could hardly do a lap of the park but I built up gradually and I've done a couple of half-marathons since then. I lost ten lbs although I've been resting for ten days since my last half-marathon so I've probably put a few of them back on since then lol! Even people doing the half-marathons have got a few wobbly bits though (I know I have!). After a while though you feel really proud of yourself and you end up not caring quite so much about the odd jiggle here and there ! Keep up the running anyway !
