V shaped body

I heard to get a V shaped body, you need to weight train your back. Can someone tell me some good excercises that will improve my back muscles, and give me that great looking V shape.

Thank you.

Re: V shaped body

I beleive that the classic V shape is more genetics than anything else. Sure you can improve on what you have got through a lot of hard work and a good diet but if you haven't got the basic 'broad shoulder' frame for it you will struggle. I read that good basic exercises are lateral pulldowns (various forms), pullups and chins etc for the lats. Do things like seated rows, T-bar rows, dumbell rows etc for the middle back.

Re: V shaped body

Yes, genetics helps. But even if you aren't blessed, you can get a good v shape.

So what do you really need? A small waist, developed lats, and good delts.

For broad shoulders, military presses, incline bench, and lateral raises.

For big lats, pull-ups or pull-downs, and rows.

A small waist is mostly a question of leanness. Get your bf% down through diet and exercise once you've gained some mass in your back and shoulders.
