| At 34, is plastic surgery the ONLY way to lose the post-baby sag?
I had my son 3 years ago via c-section and I have this HUGE apron (3 inches hanging). Is plastic surgery the only way top lose this? It's just so hard to accept that one has to go under the knife to lose the sag...
Any advice would be so much appreciated...

I here you, I'm 33 and had twins 15 months ago. I think you can improve on the "sag", but it will never be completely gone without surgery unless you are among the few with those great genes.

Sigh... I really, really, really don't want to resort to a tummy tuck... There simply has to be a way to at least reduce this sag.

You are really going to hate to hear this but the only way to get rid of the sag is to exercise and it will not go away overnight. You need to do exercises that target that area everyday. I promise if you do this you will see a difference.

Yes, you will see a difference with exercise, but it won't be what it was. It depends where you are coming from, I had a flat stomach before my twin preg so now everything looks horrible to me.

Any advice would be so much appreciated... | Sorry, but surgery is the ONLY way you will get rid of this much sagging skin. Some people will tell you that tons of exercise will do the trick. Don't listen, it's not true. Exercise works on muscles, does nothing to shrink stretched out skin. After three years it is here to stay unless you have it surgically removed. It may not be what you want to hear but it is the truth.

I think this is why it was said that diligent exercise will REDUCE the area and help it appear a bit firmer--noone claimed you could get rid of it. I agree, exercise helps soooo much. I speak from experience. |

Prepregnancy I was 130 and went up to 200 at my high point. I stayed a steady 150 after I had my son until I dieted and exercised down to 107 pounds (didn't mean to get that far down). You could see the bones in my chest, my hips poked out horribly but I still had that flap of skin. It never bothered me that much but I assume there is only so much you can do to get it back. My trainer and I at the time targetted that area and it made little difference. After you truly work on the area and diet correctly it seems to me surgery is the option.

If you can afford surgery I would just get a personal trainer and see if there is anything they can do first. I mean a really good one. Then maybe if that doesn't work do the surgery. I think this should be done in extreme cases.

Sammy, you didnt understand the question. They are discussing excess skin from the rapid weight gain/loss associated with pregnancy. Its not really weight loss surgery, so its not cheating. Some people become disfigured by this, and cardio wont burn off excess skin!!! |

Many people still don't understand that the excess skin is almost always permanent and the only way to get rid of it is with abdominoplasty (tummy tuck). Exercise and dieting will do absolutely nothing for this condition.

Dont you just hate that pouch?. I had my son 10 years ago and i still have it. At 37 i look at all the celebs, post baby and think**** why cant my abs look that good. I diet and excersise too but it still hangs on in there. At least it looks better horizontal lol. |
