Question ab machines that work?

hi there, looking to buy my bf an ab workout machine of some sort for his bday.... he's been wanting one for sometime... first he was looking at 6 second abs, but it looks sort of hokey to me... anyone tried any good ones that work if you remain persistant?
thanks much

Re: ab machines that work?

My parents bought an "Ab Lounge" and it's a joke. First of all its huge and takes up a ton of space and it does work your abs, but so do crunches on the floor- even better in my opinion. I personally think floor work and losing body fat is the key to good abs.

You'll be better off getting him a floormat and a swiss ball than wasting a ton of money on these hype gadgets.

Re: ab machines that work?

I do all my ab work on the ball. You can keep your feet on the floor or make it even more challenging and put your feet on the wall and crunch up that way. And to make it even more challenging, try one foot on the wall and then crunch up. You are activating your core muscles as well as working those abs. I know a lot of people make fun of working out on the ball, but I think it's great!
