Running early in the morning

I recently decided to stop running at night and start running early in the morning.

I get up around 5-5:30 and run for about an hour...say 3-4 times a week.

Sometimes it makes it harder to get a good 7-8 hours of sleep, so I'm wondering if this is a better idea than running at night? Sometimes I have to go back to sleep after I eat breakfast because I didn't quite get enough sleep the night before.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Re: Running early in the morning

I prefer running in the early AM, especially in the summer. It is cooler, less humid and the air is cleaner. Also less road traffic. It requires getting to bed earlier - difficult with a family - but it is a cycle that you can work into. I'd shy away from napping so soon after exercise. Better to stay loose. Hope this helps..
