Cutting weight and cardio question?

Cutting weight and cardio question?

Hey i have been doing hit cardio for a while now and i have seen great results and lost alot of fat that way, but now that im nicely toned and lean i still need to harden up my midsection and the obliques, i have some extra skin i think from losing alot of weight and from gaining muscle so last week i decided to do 45 minutes of running at 7.0 on the treadmill instead of hiit cardio. My routine is i lift Mon, Wed, Fri each week i hit the muscles once and lift to failure, then i do cardio Sun, Tue, Thurs.So my question is that since im almost where i want to be, and im now trying to cut hopefully for the last time haha, would it be better to do the longer period of cardio or continue doing the hiit cardio which i think im gettin used to doing and my knees aren't as good as they used to be. HIIT is great for fat loss and just plain ol cardio, if you want to keep doing it. You can certainly maintain with lower intensity, longer duration cardio, but if you want to keep with HIIT (even occasionally) you might hit the eliptical instead of the treadmill. MUCH easier on the knees, and of course the tiny 15-20 minute session is always a perk.
