Protein snacks?

Post Protein snacks?

Besides protein bars, what are some snacks high in protein to eat after or before a workout?

How much protein should a 14 year old get a day? I don't think I get even 100% of my daily value...

What I like to eat everyday for protein is tuna, egg whites, and chicken breast. You'de be surprised how many grams of protein you get in a small can of tuna. The amount of protein you should be taking in is based on what you're trying to do. If you're trying to eat all of this protein along the lines of building muscle (assuming you have a weight training schedule you follow) than I recommend 1 - 1.5 grams per pound of lean body mass.

Canned tuna is the rock-star of my kitchen. 37g of nearly fat free, carb free protein (rinsed to drop the sodium), 30 cents a can, non-perishable and portable. Jerkey has good protein, but has a lot of additives and LOADS of sodium. Meats and to a lesser extent, soy, nuts, broccoli all have good protein. What are your stats and golas? .5 to 1g of protein per lb of bodyweight is average - gague on the lower end if you are not active, and on the higher end if you are.
