Fiber and Fat

Question Fiber and Fat

from a bodybuilders point of view, how much Saturated, Polyunsaturated, and Monounsaturated Fat should a person get a day? I ask the same question about Dietary, Soluble, and Insoluble Fiber.

Unless you are on Atkins, FDA has all the stats. I avoid saturated fats whenever possible and try to keep any intake to healthy fats (and in fact take EFA supplements).

About fiber: "There are two forms of dietary fiber. Soluabe Fiber, which is mostly found in oats, fruits, vegetables, and brown rice, helps lower the blood cholesterol level. Insoluabe fiber, found in whole grains, helps prevent colon cancer. " The American Dietic Association says that the recommendations for dietary fiber intake for adults generally fall in the range of 20 to 35 g/day or 10 to 13 g dietary fiber per 1,000 kcal (1,2). The don't make any distinctions about soluable vs. insoluable.
