When is blurry vision an emergency

Go to an opthamologist for a medical evaluation of this problem.An optomitrist just dispenses the glasses but does not diagnose.

My optometrist is medical specialist. He works with eye surgeon. Optometrist have eight years of university.

I need to know how much blurred vision is normal for eye fatigue or dry eye.

You said you went to an optometrist, this is a guy (or gal) who makes glasses. They can "check" your vision, but not diagnose anything.

You need an ophthalmologist. This is a medical doctor of the eyes who can check to see if you have a problem or issue with your eyes. Sometimes, things like a torn retina ARE an emergency.. Yes, you should get this checked out asap. You dont want to lose your vision!

Stay away from optometrists...they are not educated enough to do anything but make you glasses, once a medical doctor has given you a correct prescription. A good ophthalmologist usually has an optometrist in his office.

Optometrists can dx some things such as dry eye, glaucoma, cataracts,etc. Did he put dye in you eyes to check for dry spots? That's the way my optometrist dx'ed mine. Told me which OTC drops to get and put a non glare coating on my glasses. Worked p perfectly.

I don't think it is an emergency. The blurry started Wednesday morning and has gotten worse. Retinal detachment and stroke are emergency but they are sudden.

My eye is very red but only slight discomfort when touching one part of eyeball.

I have a history of iritis but this is not acting like iritis and my optometrist is experienced in checking for iritis cells.

I still have to say fatigued eye but surprised I have no headache and the vision is so bad in left eye.

I will try a walk in clinic today to see if
This level of vision loss is reasonable for fatigued eye. Walk in equal physician.

Nurse said I failed vision test. Only seeing top line is a fail. Saw my doc. I have iritis. The substitute optometrist
Screwed up.
