Hi. I'm new to this board. I've had a recurrent corneal erosion for over 1 year. The original scratch was from a papercut, actually several papercuts (my daughter was waving her nursery school project around and it hit my eye.)
Sometimes the erosion is very minor, other times it is very serious. It can occur once a week, or I can go months with nothing. But I consider it a "disability" because it seriously effects my ability to function.
I am so tired of having these episodes that I've decided to insist getting that procedure done. My first optomologist said that he wanted to wait to see if my eye would heal itself before he did the procedure. But I"m tired of waiting, so I switched to a different optomologist for a second opinion. He refered me to corneal specialist, and I'm going to make an appointment tomorrow.

I'm very excited about having this finally taken care of.
Has anyone had experience with getting "the procedure" done. What was your experience like? Did it help you? Aren't there different types of procedures and are some better than others?
