Floaters and Auto Accidents

Can an accident (severe rear end collision) cause floaters? Shortly after my accident I started to develope floaters in both eyes. They appeared little by little and now have stopped. Maybe 5-6 in each eye. My vision has changed since the accident as well. Haven't been to the optomitrist because I have to wait until February for insurance to cover. Just want to know if anyone has any ideas.

Re: Floaters and Auto Accidents

I guess it's POSSIBLE. I mean floaters are pieces of the vitreous pulling off the retina and with a severe bump especially if you hit your head, it is possible. "Seeing stars" happens when one hits there head due to "trauma" in the eye from the vitreous, so why not the floaters?
