Could my contacts be the problem?

I have worn contacts for over 10 years..haven't had many problems with them. About a month ago out of the blue my right eye turned red. It was only sore when I woudl touch it. A few days later it went away. Then about a week later my right eye turned red again. It felt like something was stuck in it. I went to the doctor a couple days later but by then my eye was fine again and the Opthomologist said my eye was perfectly healthy. Throughout this whole time I kept wearing my contacts. Then a few days later my eye got red and hurt really bad so I finally stopped wearing the contacts and just wore my glasses. After a few days it got better. Then after 2 days of wearing contacts, it got red again! Wore glasses..it got better...then a couple days later, after wearin contacts, it got red again! What could be the problem? Can it be the contacts? It's just so wierd because I have worn them for so long and never had this problem before. I even put on a fresh pair of contacts just in case that pair was defective..but my eye still turns red. Has anyone had this same problem?

Are you wearing the SAME contacts as you were when the problem started or have you changed the lenses? If they are the same set of lenses and you had an infection you are just putting it back in your eye. They also say to toss out your eye makeup incase you had an infection also.

No I did change my contacts...BUT I have been using the same case...so that's probably not the best idea...I also realized that my contact solution is expired , so new solution and new case and new contact should hopefully do the trick!!!
