    Question LSD and Visual Snow/Shimmering

Approximately 1 1/2 years ago I took LSD two times at college. After taking it the second time, I went home from college on Christmas break.. 2 weeks after taking the LSD, I began getting weird headaches in the back of my head (right at the base of my skull) - very dizzy, often got sick as a result. After this went on for a week or so, my vision changed. Since that time, I have had visual snow and shimmering problems with my vision (hard to describe - it's like thousands of points of light moving constantly - make night vision very difficult.. I have trouble reading, etc. my overall vision picture is messed up too) Does anyone have any suggestions as to what can be done to remedy this problem, if anything? Also, do you think there is any connection between the LSD (it was only my 2nd time doing it - a friend did it along with me and has not had visual problems) and what i'm experiencing? I'm getting desperate & am very scared that i may have to deal with this for the rest of my life. Thank all of you in advance. God bless.

Go see an opthalmologist for sure. Check up on the effects of LSD on the internet, and see if there is anything about visual problems.

    Hiya Stinkfyste,
I thought this bit of info might put your mind at rest...About four months ago I woke up feeling quite dizzy and had a jarring headache,I went to my G.P and was diagnosed with viral Labyrinthitis.A few days later I had pains in my head and it got to a point where I felt drunk and ended up in Casualty but they said that they could find nothing wrong..all the dizzyness calmed down over a week but I was left with snowy vision. It is like T.V static where a telly is not quite tuned in properly! It is worse on a white background or at night and if I go outside and look at a blue sky I see millions of gold sparks darting about!I went back to my G.P and he tells me it is all related. Also my eyes are abit jumpy.I have been to an eye specialist who tells me there is nothing wrong with my eyes and I have also had a CAT Scan and there is nothing wrong with my brain either!!I find each day very tiring,I haven't been to work in three months and I have a two and a half year old son to look after...Anyway I dont know if you can relate to any of this,if you can I hope it helps...Good Luck

I was just browsing and came across your mwssages. I am kind of suffering from something similar, exact same symptoms but it is not constant. It starts out small and expands, then goes away in about an hour and leaves me with a migrane. My uncle is a doctor and he told me that it is a "brain spasm" in dummy terms. He told me to go see an opthamologist. I think that there is a prescription medicine out that can help. I will find out and post it for you guys. Maybe you can check with your opthamologists in the meanwhile.

Hey dude, I'm going through the same thing... But mine just started about 3 weeks ago, and isn't as severe as yours. Mine basically is I see trails off of just about anything, and the same goes for after-images... I also have the static though, too. Yeah, it's called HPPD. Supposedly, it's suppose to fade over time. Sometimes weeks, sometimes months, sometimes years. Check out the HPPD message boards, too. It makes it a lot easier to get through this **** when you're getting support from people who are going through the same thing as yours.

Main thing, though... Don't smoke pot! It'll worsen your HPPD and make your chances of recovery harder. Same goes for cigarettes and caffeine... Avoid those, eat healthy, and things will start to get better.
