Optic nerve problems
I was very recently diagnosed with sarcoidosis. I went to the opthamologist as I've been feeling a pressure-type pain behind the right eye and having some blurring. The first visit was fine, no real issues. Then yesterday I went for the visual field test to check on the optic nerve.
I was shocked when the results showed bilateral neuropathy at the upper outside corner of the vision field. The opthalmologist is concerned that my optic nerve is being pressed in the far rear, perhaps by the pituitary or sinuses, that may be swollen as a result of the sarcoid.
I know the disease is in the lungs and lymph nodes, but this is getting to me. ALso,he wants a CT scan of my head and orbits ASAP to see if that may be the cause.
I"ve had a chest CT and PET/CT in the past month, not sure another CT in this short time period is a good idea.
Any thoughts or experiences anyone might share?
