    double vision and advair

For two years I have been suffering with double vision, chronic sinusitis, headaches etc which came on overnight starting with a sinus infection. Have had MRI's, CT scans, 5 complete eye exams in one year with still no answer. Advair lists a side effect that states"eye problems" but will not specify those probems. Have asked all my docs about this and they all say no connection but when I tried taking myself off the advair my symptoms improve, but then the asthma kicks in and have to go back on. My new primary suggested trying a new inhaler (symbicort), but on my first use my right eye went immediately to the corner and hasn't moved since. She then put my on an inhaler with no steriod or salmuterol in it. Since being off the adviar (now 19 days) almost all my sinus symptoms have disappeared. I am still having the double vision due to my right eye floating inward. I would like to know if there is anyone else out there with similar symptoms.

I don't have similar symptoms--just a couple of suggestions. 1) Have you tried calling the manufacturer of Advair? You can probably find a phone number online. They could give you more information about the possible "eye problems" associated with this drug. 2) Something is causing your double vision--is it fair to say that your doctors don't have a clue? Who performed the 5 complete eye exams you mentioned? You need to see a neuro-ophthalmologist (or possibly a strabismus specialist)--preferably at a major medical center.

I have similar symptoms but im not on that medicine... for a good 3 years i have had double vision and chronic sinusitis. I heard that if you have alot of pressure in the frontal, ethmoid, and sphenoid sinuses it can put pressure on the optic nerves... im facing surgery for my sinusitis and i would be so happy if it stopped my double vision. I hate it. I wish i could give my extra eye-sight to someone that needs it!!
