Hi Mehul,
Nobody can answer your questions and concerns better than your doctor who had a chance to examine your eyes thoroughly.
However, from what you have described and based on your age, the chances of it being a PVD (Posterior Vitreous Detachment) are highly probable like the other posters had mentioned.
Did your specialist confirm that you have a PVD? The neat thing about a PVD is that if you see it, then the eye specialist should be able to see the same thing within your vitreous. Also, if there was no hemorrhage occurring during your PVD event, then the chances of it leading to a RD (Retinal Detachment) become less. PVDs are quite common in older people, generally nothing to be alarmed about if longstanding albeit a nuisance to some individuals.
The precaution you should take is basically simple, and that is to observe any vision changes you may have in the next 3 months. If you start to see flashes of light or notice that your vision isn't the "usual", then go see the retina specialist asap and not wait for the 6 months follow up.
If nothing proves unusual, you will eventually forget about this circle with strands as your brain is smart enough to ignore them most of the time.
So try to relax and not worry about it, but be vigilant in your observation and go for F/U if you notice a difference in your "normal vision".
Cheers,
Earthworm
