Flashing arcs, lights, orbs in left eye after injury for 7 years! Please help!

I have been having constant flashing lights/arcs in the left corner of my eye for 7 years. This is following an eye injury I had in 2007. I am highly myopic and have been to 4 different retinal specialists in Denver. None can see a problem with my retina and say it's vitreous traction or retinal traction. One doctor saw scarring but that's it. Otherwise they say my retina is healthy.I am losing my mind over this. I have been seeing really bright arcs during the day and night! Does anyone know what this is? I feel like a case study! It first started out when I looked up to the right and now it is constant/ multiple flashes, arcs, sometimes 3 or four arcs going down, then one going up, what is this? Anyone, please help. This happens mostly when I blink, but now when I go into a room with light change it happens as well. Please help!!

I've had this too for the last 3 years. Been to 4 different opthamologist thinking something was wrong with my retina. They just say my retina is ok and that the light is caused from pulling. The more you think about it, the more you will see it. Took me months to calm down and ignore it. I even asked the eye doctor to give me something to relax, but he wouldn't. So I would run down to Walmart and buy some benadryl to relax :/

It's really hard for me to ignore, I have tried. Thank you for replying. My doctors say the same thing fordaisy. Did you have an injury and are you myopic? This is so frustrating for me. It has affected my everyday living so much. I take GABA and anti anxiety supplements but nothing helps, the light is so bright that it is hard for me to ignore.

Fordaisy, how often do you get the flashes. For me, it is mostly when I blink in a bright environment, but now I get the flashes when I enter a room with different lighting. I am thinking that my iris or lens sustained damage or has a floater on it creating this photopsia, any thoughts?

Sorry about the multiple posts, but I did want to mention that I do get the flashes/arcs every time I blink, so it can happen up to 20 times a minute. If i am in the right light that sets them off. Thanks.

I am extremely near sighted - 750 right eye, 650 left. I first started seeing an increase in floaters and then the bright arc started in my left eye. Then I stared seeing flashes of lights in both eyes. I see them all the time. I see them less when I ignore them. I know that is hard to do, but for me it is the only way to cope with it. I am 58, as you grow older the fluid in the back of the eyes gets less firm and jiggles against the retina.

Re: Flashing arcs, lights, orbs in left eye after injury for 7 years! Please help!

This just started for me out of the blue about 4-5 months ago. started in the right side of my right eye. I was walking down the street one night and I thought a car was driving up behind me amd saw them day/night, mostly under brighter lights and when closing eyes.

Never had an accident, I do get headaches, sometimes migraines (I blame that on the wisdom teeth).

I went to see an eye man about 3 weeks after it started, but they didn't see anything wrong. The eye drops actually made my vision worse too - anyone else experience that?

Anyways, it stopped for a few months and it just started back up again, but now in both eyes. In 6 hours I saw about 9 flashes at work (work under brought lights staring at computer screen).

It scares me a little because if there's nothing wrong with my eyes, it makes me thing it's something in the electrical parts of our eyes.

Just wanted to share my piece. I read some more literature online and I'm going to be getting blood work done and maybe convince someone to get me an MRI.
