    Chronic Eyelid Issues ...

Hello, I'm new to this forum but hopeful that someone will be able to offer some advice.

About two months ago, I slept in my makeup. As has happened in the past, I woke up with very puffy (upper) eyelids. I threw out that makeup and restocked with hypoallergenic eyeliner and mascara. Still, the puffy eyes persisted. For the last three weeks, I have gone makeup free. However, I continue to suffer from puffy eyelids. My eyes are also red, itchy, and irritated. I do not believe it to be blepharatis since there is no crust or flakiness.

I visited my eye doctor last week. He observed papillae under the eyelid and prescribed a strong steroid eye drop. It has not helped at all. I have Graves disease, but he saw no sign of Graves ophthalmology disease. Recent blood work shows that my thyroid antibodies are slightly high and my vitamin d is extremely low.

I do not have any known allergies so I'm not sure what is causing what seems like an allergic response. We have had a wonderful dog for two years, but I don't think I'm allergic to him as the puffy eyelids and itchy eyes persist even when I am away from him all day (I'm gone 12 hours per day some days).

    Any suggestions or advice?

    Hello,

I was diagnosed with Blepharitis based on only few symptoms: itchy dry eyes, slightly puffy lids. My Dr put me on Restesis and all symptoms disapeared. I had never had flakiness or crust either.
I will have to be on Restesis for the rest of my life. As long as i dont have to wake up in a middle of the night with itchy eyes - i will use this great product.

    Good luck to you.

I too have puffy eye lids due to Graves' disease You should
Be able to know if you do also by looking into
A mirror, relax your face and look into your eyes
if your eyelids rise and you can see the whites of your
Eyes, then the puffiness is due to Graves Disease
If your Endocrinologist didn't tell you, this is a symptom of Graves Disease,
Perhaps it's getting worse and/or meds are not working.
