please help.. my sister is addicted to vicodin..!

please i'm desperate. i've been bawling my eyes out for weeks now b/c we're all at our wits ends. to make a very long story short, she's been addicted for almost 5 years now, on & off, once before we got her to go through detox & come clean but then she went back. she's 30 & divorced. she's got a lot of mental health issues & depression/anxiety. she's been in & out of the hospital for almost a month now. they have her right now on 30 mg of methadone daily, ativan, ambien & paxil. she's so drugged she can't even keep her eyes open, stand, walk, talk, nothing. isn't this 2 much? she has no insurance, no job, no money. we can't find a treatment center here in illinois that treats those w/out insurance. social security/medicaid aren't friendly to addicts anymore I guess.
if anyone lives in illinois, could you refer me to a treatment center that doesn't require insurance? i'm not sure if that's allowed but if it is, please post it!
also.. can anyone give me any advice, any direction? I don't like her being on methadone, I hear it's even worse than any narcotic, & that it's the hardest to get off of. she won't listen to get off of it. I told my mom not 2 let the doctors give it 2 her anymore but she's doing what she used 2, saying how she NEEDS it for the pain. what can we do? PLEASE HELP.. i'm just desperate!!

There are some free rehabs out there. You need to work hard finding one. Many churches offer rehabs/halfway houses. They are pretty spartan but they'll help. Sounds like she's been zombified in a psych unit(they do this to keep the patient "under control"). Try calling 2-1-1 on your phone and see what they have to offer(they'll give you phone numbers to some clinics/rehabs). The "hospital" is definitely getting her "strung out" and it'll be tough for her to kick the methadone. Call the churches, call 2-1-1, keep making calls until you can find her some help. Try and document what they are giving her at the hospital. I wish I could help you more but I'm not in Illinois.

Good Luck
